You like Scrabble, but you think it is boring to wait while the others take their turn?
You think games like Speed and Ligretto are a blast, but you cannot stand these symbols and numbers any longer?
You love Taboo, but you would finally like to say all those Taboo-words aloud?

Welcome to WORDWILD!

"A word that starts with c... and ends with ...r? Sure, "clever"! Ha! So, let me flip the round indicator to yellow, pass me the tin box, pleaaaaaase! Darn, now I grabbed far too many speed cards! .... What, "Caesar"? What do you mean? Oh, you mean for the topic "Ancient Egypt, B.C."? Why did I start sorting the speed cards in the first place? Damn it!"

The game

2-5 players simultaneously try to collect the most spells. Who is fastest in finding words that start with a word beginning on one card and end with a word ending on another, has good chances to win the speed scoring ... but maybe he'll totally fail in the thematic scoring! Shall I concentrate on speed or topics? What do the others do? Oh my, my piece on that topic card is really in danger ... each round is new, each round is different, each round is wordwild!

The optimal number of players is approximately 3.73.
However, the special rule for 2 players transfers the suspense of games with more players 1:1 to the two-player game. If you are playing with five players, everybody should have played the game before and all five should be similarly good at it. But then Wordwild gets really WILD!

Contents:

  • 200 word cards, 100 each in German and English,
  • 24 topic cards,
  • 35 wooden pieces,
  • 1 red and yellow round indicator
  • German rules of the game

Wordwild comes in a silvery, non-shrink-wrapped tin box.
